OwnOurOwnHealth.org is a project of the @s4pm community (the name comes from how we are known on Twitter). We are members of the Society for Participatory Medicine.
Our community is a unique collaboration between doctors and other health professionals working with patients, business leaders and health advocates to increase patient engagement while we promote healthy changes in health care and medicine.
We created the public service video below for a contest meant to spread the word about non-profit causes worth knowing. Our message is intended to help put patients in the driver's seat. The details are evolving in our dynamic collaboration with each other as we explore all the things that "patient engagement" can mean. From meetups to a busy message board to a professional journal and a patient's blog, we learn from each other as we spread the word.
